Home Island, or Pulu Selma, is one of two inhabited islands of the Cocos. Getting there from West Island is only a short ferry ride away, and it’s home to an approximate population of about 500 Cocos Malay people.

Visit the museum and learn about the local traditions and culture, including the history of the island and the early owners of the Cocos Keeling Islands – the Clunies Ross family. A visit to Oceania house is also a must – the Clunies Ross ancestral home. (You can also stay overnight here) The museum is open during Shire office hours – just see the shire staff for a key.

On the islands north end is the local cemetery where many of the Clunies Ross family are laid to rest.

Dinner is available at the local restaurant, who serve of beautiful Malay cuisine.
