The two main surf breaks on The Cocos Islands are The Shack and The Spot. The Shack is a left hander suitable for intermediate to experienced surfers. The Spot features a left and right break and is a beginners wave, whilst The Spot is more suited to intermediate to experiences surfers and breaks left and right, best on a mid-tide.
The Cocos Keeling Islands visitors centre can help with the location of breaks and tides, so call in and see them on arrival.
Bring your own surfboard to the islands as there is no where to hire once you get there. The Cocos Islands are also known for great kite surfing and windsurfing.
